You know when you see, read or hear something that really jars your thoughts.
Well that's what happened to me when someone I was having dinner with for the very first time last night requested warm water vs. cold water with his meal.
What caught my attention wasn't so much the request, but more of his distain at the very notion that why would anyone drink cold water.
I always drink ICE COLD WATER, in fact THE COLDER THE BETTER!
I love COLD WATER!
Somewhere I know I read that there's a theory that you really shouldn't drink many fluids whenever you eat anything as it dilutes the natural digestive fluids we need to propoerly break down whatever we put in our stomachs, but I have never read or heard anything about not drinking cold water when you eat.
But the more I watched him keep reminding the waiter to pour him water at room temperature the more I couldn't get the idea out of my head.
Who was this mystery man, a man who only drinks warm water, he's Eric Francis, founder and creator of an amazing collection of websites called Planet Waves of which I'm a subscriber. But that's another story, check the next post.
Eric explained "why would you throw cold water on a the fire that's meant to help you digest your food", ok, maybe those weren't his exact words but you get the drift.
But once he said it, I couldn't stop pondering the idea, and it's now 4:08 pm the next day, and not only is it still on my mind, it's obviously still on my mind enough that I was compelled to share it in my blog because I really think there's a lot of wellness wisdom to be explored with his notion.
So I'm planning on doing my research inspired bt Eric's insights and I'll be back on the subject at a later time, but in the mean time I'm going to be drinking warm water, it's just seems to be good common sense.
In fact I've got a big pitcher of it sitting on our kitchen counter warming up right at this moment.
Give it some thought...
